A Little Adventure is a new, bite-sized challenge that makes it easy for families to get outside and get out of their comfort zones. How it works How it works Common FAQs Our team Kid approved How it works Step 1 Connect with a Scout A Scout is a local guide who loves Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Whether you meet them at an Adventure Outpost or chat with them online, they’ll help you discover new adventures and connect you with the local Experts to keep exploring more. Scouts can register you for a free class, share insight into different charter boats, point you in the right direction of where to snorkel or paddle, and provide inside tips to customize a Little Adventure of your own. Step 2 Choose your Little Adventure class Every Little Adventure is designed with kids in mind. It’s a first step! These free classes introduce kids to adventures like fishing, surfing, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and more. Using the filters or the calendar, choose one that’s right for you. Sign up and then come on out. That’s all there is to it. Step 3 Start your Little Adventure Once you book your class, you will receive a text confirmation and reminder notifications. Each class is limited to 6-10 kids at a time, so please reserve your spot as early as possible, and note you can cancel at any time. What’s a Little Adventure Class? Our classes are designed to introduce kids to adventures and give them the confidence to try something new. Each class is led by a local Expert who is passionate about sharing Destin-Fort Walton Beach’s water culture with kids. How do I sign up? You can sign up right here. Simply click the class you’re interested in, select a time and book! From there you’ll receive a text notification and reminders. Where are classes held? Little Adventure classes are held in multiple locations including the Adventure Outpost on Crystal Beach and our mobile Outposts that travel to locations on the Gulf and Bay side of Okaloosa Island. When registering for your class please be certain to note location as the same classes may be held in multiple places at different times of day. Who teaches the classes? Classes are taught by Little Adventure Experts – local, small business owners who are passionate about sharing the Destin-Fort Walton Beach water culture with kids. How long is each class? 60-75 minutes How much does a class cost? Little Adventure Classes are 100% free! Do I need to bring my own equipment? Nope! Your Scout and Expert will supply you with everything you need to take a Little Adventure Class. All you’ll need is a swimsuit and towel if your class involves getting in the water. How can I confirm we’re registered? After you’ve signed up for your class you will receive a confirmation text message, followed by a reminder one hour before class begins. Can I sign up more than one kid? Yes! You are welcome to sign up multiple kids, however please note each participant is required to have their own individual waiver completed. Do parents participate? One of the best parts about classes is that parents can have an opportunity to watch their kids take on something new. While you do not directly participate in class, you are required to stay for the duration, and welcome to take photos and chat with Experts and Scouts about similar adventures you can check out. What if the weather is bad? In the event a class is canceled due to weather a Scout will contact you and share information about upcoming classes to reschedule. What if we can no longer make it to class? To cancel, simply reply to the confirmation text with the word EXIT then follow the link to cancel the class your child is registered for.
