About this Adventure

Swimming in The Gulf opens up a world of adventure for kids, but it also raises a number of questions for Mom and kids alike, from how to spot a rip tide, to what the colors of the beach flags mean, to how to safely play in the waves and wear a life jacket. This class answers them all. From meeting a lifeguard, to learning about water conditions and how to safely enjoy water adventurers on the beach and offshore, this class serves as a foundation to explore further. Class takes place on the beach and in the pool at The Island Hotel. Kids will hop in the pool to learn and practice skills specific to open-water situations – whether that’s taking a step beyond where the waves break or heading further offshore on board a boat.
